Top 10 events happening in August

Celebrate the gentle giants of the north at Colebrook’s annual North Country Moose Festival, happening August 24-25, 2018.

Here are the top 10 events happening in New Hampshire this month:

August 3-5: Suncook Valley Rotary Hot Air Balloon Rally in Pittsfield

Families will enjoy midway rides and food, helicopter rides, pancake breakfast, river raft regatta, hot air balloons and fireworks. If you can make it to this event, then definitely go on Saturday and stick around in the evening to check out the Super Night Glow (the balloons will be lit up against the night sky and it's truly something to see). Admission to this festival is free but there is a cost for amusement rides and food.

August 4-12: 85th Annual League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair in Newbury

The fair features contemporary and traditional craft in all media: pottery, hand-blown glass, framed prints, woven baskets, detailed furniture, bowls, hand-dyed silk scarves, and handcrafted jewelry. Master craftsmen demonstrate printmaking, jewelry making, glassblowing, blacksmithing, clay building, weaving and more. Craft workshops for adults, teens, and children offer personalized instruction from a master craftsperson. Admission is $15 for adults and free for children ages 12 and younger.

August 7: National Night Out across NH

Several NH communities (Hooksett, Salem, Northwood, Concord, Rochester, Gilford, Portsmouth, Lincoln, Waterville Valley and MANY more) are hosting a FREE community night out to strengthen and reinforce the relationship between police and local communities. August 25: New Hampshire Maker and Food Fest in Dover

Join the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire at this 6th annual event that is an all-ages celebration of creativity and innovation. The event, formerly known as the Dover Mini Maker Faire, is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do.
