Taika Waititi (and friends) read ‘James and the Giant Peach’

The list of celebrities reading books to kids online during the COVID-19 pandemic is fairly extensive, but this one stands out. Oscar winning writer/director/actor Taika Waititi (“Jojo Rabbit,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” “The Mandalorian,” and so on,) has put together an all-star cast to read Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach.”
Over the course of 10 installments, airing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. ET, he’ll be joined by the likes of Meryl Streep, Mindy Kaling, Chris and Liam Hemsworth and Lupita Nyong’o, among others.
Each episode is accompanied by family-friendly crafts, experiments and competitions.
The undertaking is to benefit the nonprofit Partners in Health, which is currently working to fight the coronavirus.
