Some Good News for the class of 2020
A look at John Krasinski's virtual prom
John Krasinski – Patriots fan, Sox fan, good guy.
The ‘A Quiet Place,’ ‘The Office’ and Jack Ryan actor’s Some Good News broadcast/videos have been highlighting some of the positive things going on during a difficult time.
On Friday, Krasinski threw a virtual prom for members of the class of 2020 who will likely be missing out on such celebrations this year, thanks to the stay-at-home order, which will keep schools closed through the end of the school year.
“I’m going to throw prom for every kid in the world tonight,” Krasinski said in the four installment of his ongoing broadcast.
And so he did. Even though he had stage jitters and very little idea of what was going to happen.
“With only minutes left before going on, I can honestly tell you I have never been more scared in my entire life,” he said. “Not only was I about to go live for the first time ever, I was quite literally the least prepared human on earth to do so. So what did I do? I hit start.”
It turned out to be a great idea. With a few guests in his back pocket, Krasinski made a memorable evening out of something that would’ve been decidedly less than exciting.
