ParentingNH wins 11 awards for general excellence, editorial and design

ParentingNH, New Hampshire’s first and only statewide magazine for parents of children and teens, was honored at the 2019 Editorial and Design Awards at the Parenting Media Association’s annual meeting in St. Petersburg, Fla., on March 1.

The magazine, edited by Melanie Hitchcock, won 11 awards, including a silver award for overall General Excellence. Also, gold awards for Best Redesigned Publication, Best Website, Humor Column and Publisher’s Editor’s Note; silver awards for Overall Writing, Non-Traditional Story Form Feature, Special Series, Ancillary Publication General Excellence and Ancillary Publication Overall Design for its Family Summer Fun Guide, and a bronze award for Profile Story.

The PMA, a nonprofit representing the family media market since 1988, received 566 entries for the 2018 contest, which was coordinated by Prof. Reuben Stern of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism.

PMA is an organization representing more than 100 parenting magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada and Australia.

ParentingNH is published by McLean Communications of Manchester, which also publishes New Hampshire Business Review, New Hampshire Magazine, and New Hampshire Home. McLean Communications is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yankee Publications of Dublin, N.H.
