Welding offers more job opportunities and the likelihood for career advancement than just about any other industry. The median age for welders is mid-fifties and many will be retiring in the next ten years. Businesses will need a new generation of welders to fill the void.

Phaze Welding Technology Center is an accredited welding education center that works in collaboration with Region 14 Applied Technology Center at Conval High School. Phaze teaches advanced welding techniques and trains students to administer advanced cutting and welding applications currently in demand within the manufacturing and construction industry. Students will be trained to be proficient in fundamental safety practices in welding, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and quality control methods.

Phaze currently offers two programs:
• 60hr course which teaches students the basic welding skills and techniques. Upon completion of this course students will receive a course completion certificate.
• 130hr course which trains students to become a welding apprentice. Upon completion of the Advanced Welding Technology course, proficient students will be prepared to complete the American Welding Society (AWS) Entry Welder qualification and certification.
