Let’s take the kids to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

It's not a zoo: A virtual visit to an out-of-this-world world

Walt Disney World’s most convincingly immersive theme park, Animal Kingdom is a celebration of the natural world, animals of all kinds, fantastic realms andBlogtreeoflife outstanding entertainment.

It’s also quite different from every other theme park at the vacation kingdom. This park is best taken in slowly. Look around – notice the countless details Imagineers have carefully created, watch for wildlife and let the music and the perfectly recreated habitats draw you in.

Or, run straight to Flight of Passage because those lines get crazy.

But since this isn’t real, we can take our time and save it for last. First, we’ll stroll up and over into the Oasis as the Tree of Life reveals itself.

What’s your favorite Animal Kingdom show or attraction? Let me know!

But first, sunrise.

Sunrise at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you’ve been traveling along with us the past few days (Let’s take the kids to the Magic Kingdom; Let’s take the kids to Epcot,) this is how we start… Coffee, and a zenlike introduction to the park as the sun illuminates everything.

OK, let’s do this.

Flights of Wonder
I’m not one to complain about changes in the parks, but I am one to also post the superior version of this show, which was mothballed in favor of that other one.

Expedition Everest

DINOLAND U.S.A.

AKA: Nope.
I get motion sick, so I’ll just grab a drink and meet you over by the Dino Institute.

PANDORA – THE WORLD OF AVATAR
I was lucky enough to take part in the opening of this new section of the park. Here’s a video I made at the time that gives a little insight/overview of this immersive environment.

Enough of my yappin’, let’s get back on our tour of Pandora.

A walk around the Valley of Mo’ara

Na’vi River Journey

Flight of Passage (queue, pre-show and ride)
There is no better experience in all of Walt Disney World. I know, I know, we haven’t been to Galaxy’s Edge yet, and the new Star Wars world certainly is amazing, but Flight of Passage is the be-all, end-all. Enjoy this!

Well, that was a full day. Let’s check out the nighttime show.
