Homeschooling: It’s time for gym class
Tour some great spots virtually while staying active in virtual PE
We’ve all had a couple weeks at home during the school shutdown/quarantine/stay-at-home order, so it’s time to think about getting up out of our computer chairs.
With gyms closed and the idea that we need to maintain a safe distance from others, exercise options can be a little limited. So it was great to learn that there are a variety of virtual options to get you moving – from treadmill and elliptical assists to Zumba and yoga options.
And there are plenty that revolve around the Dad on Bored’s favorite vacation destination. Get through these workouts and you’ll not only be ready for when school resumes, you’ll be in perfect shape to run to Galaxy’s Edge so you can get in a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance.
To start with, RunTheImpossible has some great options.
Get your phone, tablet, smart device or laptop, set it up in front of your treadmill and take a healthy-but-virtual walk or run through some of your favorite vacation destinations. Videos lead you through a number of theme parks, complete with amazing views of the beautiful landscaping,
Here’s a few of my favorites from the #RunTheImpossible Treadmill Series:
Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
They’ve even got resorts:
Art of Animation/Pop Century
Here’s a 5k workout at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay
If you want to head across the I4 (not recommended, it’s not a fun way to get anywhere,) you can tour Universal Studios Orlando.
And here’s Islands of Adventure
