Happily Ever After

Disney to stream fireworks show tonight

Who couldn’t use some fireworks to spice up yet another Friday night at home? Well, now you can get a look at how the best in the business does it.

Tonight, Disney will stream Happily Ever After – the pyrotechnic show that blasts off nightly in the Magic Kingdom (when it’s actually open.)

The 18-minute show, which will stream on Walt Disney World’s Instagram account at 7 p.m., debuted almost three years ago, and includes fireworks, music, projection mapping onto Cinderella Castle and dramatic lighting. Using animated scenes from Disney and Pixar films and some of the best music from those productions, it follows a narrative that weaves through Dreams, Journey, Friendship, Love, Adversity, Triumph and then a Finale. Expect to see a broad cast of characters that includes Tiana, Ariel, Remy, Rapunzel, Quasimodo, Merida, Aladdin, Olaf and Mulan and more.

As an obsessive Disney fan, I’ll say the high point, among many, is “Go the Distance” from “Hercules.”

Since its launch in May of 2017, it has become the must-do nighttime spectacular at Walt Disney World, surpassing even the much-loved (by me) and recently-retired Illuminations, at Epcot. Sure, it’s on Youtube, but what fun is watching it alone when you could watch it in tandem with many thousands of other Disney fanatic families?
