Drive-in movie night

Get the popcorn and snacks ready, because it’s time to catch a flick with your family. Each Friday this summer, Exeter Parks and Recreation is holding a drive-in movie night at Exeter High School. On the big screen on July 31 is “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl”. (FYI: August 7 is “Grease” and August 14 is “Harry & The Hendersons”.)

Pre-registration is required for these weekly events. To register, call Exeter Parks and Recreation at (603)-773-6151, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., or go online to www.exeternh.gov/recreation.  The fee is $15 per car.

On-stage entertainment

The campers from the Theatre in the Woods in Intervale hold weekly performances on Fridays at 5 p.m. and tickets are a reasonable $5 per person. For Friday, July 31, don’t miss the classic fairy tale, “Snow White”.

If this weekend’s calendar is full, save the date for “Aladdin” on August 7, “Cinderella” on August 14 and “The Wizard of Oz” on August 21.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and masks are required.

Make some noise

Recycled Percussion, the legendary drumming group from New Hampshire, is back in the Granite State and this time they’re heading for a show at the Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey on Saturday, August 1. The crowd can expect a high energy music, drumming and entertainment performance like no other.

One ticket grants admission for up to five people and shows are at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Get your engine revving

Head to the New England Dragway in Epping for Jet Cars Under the stars on Saturday, August 1. For decades, this has been one the track’s most popular family shows with the legends of turbine powered fury assaulting the New England Dragway concrete battleground. Jet dragsters, jet funny cars and the world’s fastest jet truck, Shockwave, will all be there. The world’s fastest jet firetruck, Aftershock, will put your adrenaline level over the top.
