Kirkwood Gardens Day
23 Science Center Rd
Holderness, NH 03245
Kirkwood Gardens Day has become known as the plant sale with the best prices and most diverse plants in the area.
Both the upper and lower lawns at Kirkwood Gardens in Holderness will host this annual garden sale that offers hardy New England grown perennials and herbs; expert gardening advice; a garden treasures sale of gently used items; exceptional wares from area vendors; and home baked goods and hot and cold beverages for sale. There will also be a silent auction featuring desirable plants and garden items.
All proceeds from Kirkwood Gardens Day benefit the gardens, which were established in 1995 in honor of “Sunny” Grace Kirkwood, who served on the Science Center’s Board of Trustees for six years. Sunny designed a one-acre garden on the grounds of the historic Holderness Inn to include both shade and sun beds planted with a wide variety of trees, shrubs, ferns, and flowers adapted to the northern New England climate. Today, Kirkwood Gardens is a beautiful, peaceful, location to enjoy the many plants that are attractive to birds, bees, and butterflies.
