Disney filmmaker delivers (a short) commencement address

Message of creativity inspires. It's also very funny.

If you haven’t been asked to deliver a virtual commencement address to the class of 2020, you’re one of the few. It seems as if everyone is imparting advice to graduates, from former President Barack Obama to actor/really nice guy John Krasinski.

But we’ve got a new favorite. Don Hahn has worked on and produced a pile of well-known films, like “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” among many others.

Hahn threw his hat into the commencement address ring this week, with a funny, inspiring speech that obviously comes from someone who has worked, succeeded and lived.

Among the wisdom he imparts:

  • Celebrate the milestones.
  • Fall in love with something.
  • Learn that craft better than anyone else.
  • Thank your parents (ooh, this is a good one.)
  • Life depends on fresh starts.

Have a look.
