Cabin fever cure: Family sing-along night

ABC to air interactive musical Disney favorites

When I was growing up, our family would get in front of the TV every Sunday night to watch “The Wonderful World of Disney.” Yes, I’m that old. Now, families – who are Yawelcomequarantined together anyway – have a chance to gather around the TV for a new Disney special.

Next Thursday, April 16, ABC will air “The Disney Family Singalong” hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The show will feature celebrities and their families sharing their take on their favorite Disney songs.

And, viewers will be able join in as animated characters guide the on-screen lyrics.

It’ll be  just like karaoke, only without people getting frustrated if you steal their song.

Here’s a list of the animated films that will be highlighted during the show (and I have no idea what songs they’ll feature, so I’ll just use my favorites):

Beauty and the Beast

The Little Mermaid

Toy Story

Frozen (as if I could choose any other song)

Celebrities scheduled to appear remotely from their homes include Christina Aguilera, Erin Andrews, Bobby Bones, Michael Buble, Kristin Chenoweth, Auli’i Cravalho, Luke Evans, Jordan Fisher, Josh Gad, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Little Big Town, Kenny Ortega, Donny Osmond, Thomas Rhett, Amber Riley, and John Stamos.

The event will also highlight Feeding America, which is helping people around the country who are facing hunger.

“The Disney Family Singalong” will air at 8 p.m. on ABC.
