All aboard the Christmas trains
Journey to the North Pole, Santa's Express and the Hobo Railroad Santa Express trains are running in 2020
Head to the White Mountains this holiday season, to take a train adventure with your family. New Hampshire’s scenic trains offer all of the usual holiday fun and atmosphere with plenty of Covid-19 precautions in place.
Journey to the North Pole is a two-hour trip to see Santa at the North Pole. When you get there, you’ll be greeted by elves, and kids can leave letters to Santa at the post office. The trip features a dramatic reading of “The Night Before Christmas,” caroling, treats, and of course, Santa Claus.
Adventures depart from North Conway and Lincoln starting after Thanksgiving. Net proceeds from the Journey to the North Pole™ Event fund Literacy Programs of The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation.
The Hobo Railroad in Lincoln starts up the Santa Express trains the day after Thanksgiving. During the one hour, 20-minute trip, enjoy milk and cookies while your child finishes up that letter to Santa.
Santa and Mrs. Claus visit the passengers on the train and pick up the letters; each child is also surprised with a gift. Be sure to get a picture with Santa when you return to Hobo Junction Station so you’ll remember the experience always.
Santa’s Express departs from Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway on November 27-29, December 5-6, December 12-13 and December 19-23. Conway Scenic Railroad is also offering holiday trains, happening December 26-31 and January 2-3. Call for tickets and additional information: (603) 356-5251.
