Parenting NH wins eight editorial, design and digital awards

Parenting New Hampshire, celebrating 25 years in 2018 as the state’s premier parenting magazine, was honored at the Editorial and Design Awards at the Parenting Media Association’s annual meeting in St. Petersburg, Fla., on March 2.

The magazine, edited by Melanie Hitchcock, won eight awards, including seven gold awards for Best Website (Morgen Connor) Humor Column (Bill Burke), Travel Feature (Bill Burke), Special Series (Melanie Plenda); Publisher’s/Editor’s Note (Melanie Hitchcock), Ancillary Publication Design (Family Summer Fun Guide – Nancy Tichanuk, designer) and Ancillary Publication General Excellence (Family Summer Fun Guide – Melanie Hitchcock, editor; Jacqueline Tourville, writer); and a bronze award for Profile Story (Pamme Boutselis).

This marks the 11th year in a row that Parenting has been honored by PMA. The PMA, a nonprofit representing the family media market since 1988, received 560 entries this year for magazines issues and digital products. Prof. Reuben Stern of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism coordinated the annual contest.

PMA is an organization representing more than 100 parenting magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada and Australia.

Parenting New Hampshire is published by McLean Communications of Manchester, which also publishes New Hampshire Business Review, New Hampshire Magazine, and New Hampshire Home. McLean Communications is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yankee Publications of Dublin, N.H.
