There are a number of family-friendly winter carnivals and winter festivals being held in New Hampshire this winter so be sure to bundle up and hit the road for some fun.

Winter Carnival at White Park in Concord, NH

When: Saturday, January 21, 2017
More information:
White Park in Concord will welcome hundreds of people to its annual winter carnival. The day includes a family parade, speed skating competitions and sledding contests. There will be a bonfire to warm up by and plenty of smores to munch on. This event is free to attend.

Nansen-Milan Winter Festival in Milan, NH

When: Friday, January 20 - Sunday, January 22, 2017

Enjoy the best of winter fun and sports including: bon fires, ice skating, hot cocoa, broomball games and broomball tournament, dog sled races, cross country ski races, winter market, kids races and much more.

Keene Ice and Snow Festival

When: Saturday, February 4, 2017; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Now in its 15th year, the Keene Ice and Snow Festival is held at Central Square in downtown Keene, NH. This family-friendly winter carnival includes snowball fights, ice sculpture competitions and plenty of hot cocoa sipping. This event is free to attend.

Ice Harvest and Winter Carnival in Tamworth, NH

When: Saturday, February 4, 2017

This is a signature event for the Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm in Tamworth, NH. Enjoy sleigh rides, outdoor winter games, indoor crafts, meet a dog sled team and enjoy a scavenger hunt.

Newport, NH Winter Carnival

When: February 8-12, 2017

This year marks the 101st annual winter carnival in Newport, NH. Fun includes a fishing derby, ice hockey games, ski joring, murder mystery dinner, fireworks and more. A full schedule of events festivities can be found here. This event is free to attend.

Dartmouth College Winter Carnival

When: February 9-12, 2017
More information:
This annual winter carnival is open to Dartmouth College residents as well as locals and visitors. Annual festivities include a snow sculpture contest, snow golf, discounts and special races as Dartmouth Skiway, a polar bear plunge and dogsled racing. This event is free to attend.

Frost Festival in Derry, NH

When: Friday, February 10 through Sunday, February 12, 2017

Ice sculptures, sledding, Wildlife Encounters, ice skating, a chili contest and snowmobile exhibit.

New London Winter Carnival

When: February 17, 2017

Enjoy ice skating, an ice hockey tournament, magic show, wagon rides, scavenger hunt, BBQ, kids activities, snowshoeing, a s'mores party and fireworks. Don't miss the dinner with Jack Frost which take place outdoors under tiki torches and all families are welcome.

Alton Bay Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival at King Pine Ski Area in Madison, NH

When: February 20-24, 2017

Head to King Pine Ski Area in East Madison, NH during the second half of February and check out its special winter carnival events. Festivities include sleigh rides, snowshoe tours, fireworks on Thursday, February 18, a silly slalom and on Friday, February 26 there will be a kids light parade.

25th Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park in Merrimack, NH

When: Saturday, February 25, 2017; 12 – 3 p.m.

This is the 25th anniversary for the Wasserman Park Winter Carnival and this fun-filled free day will be filled with snowman building, snow art, an ice fishing derby as well as various arts and crafts. There will be indoor and outdoor fun.

Wolfeboro Winter Carnival: Winter Wonderland

When: Saturday, February 25, 2017 and March 1-4, 2017

Events are held throughout Wolfeboro including Abenaki Ski Area and Pop Whalen Ice Arena and include a big air competition, free ice skating, snowshoeing workshop, sleigh rides, animal tracking, primitive fire building, inflatable obstacle course competition, pancake breakfast as well as ski and snowboard races.

19th Annual Colebrook Kiwanis Winter Carnival
