Here are the top 10 events happening in New Hampshire this month:

FEBRUARY 4: ICE AND SNOW FESTIVAL IN KEENE

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Keene Ice and Snow Festival, held at Central Square and Railroad Square in downtown Keene. This is a family-friendly winter carnival and festivities include snowball fights, ice sculpture competitions, crafts for kids, train rides and pictures with polar bears and ice princesses. This event is free to attend.

FEBRUARY 4, 11, 18 AND 25: SNOWSHOE STROLLS IN LACONIA

Head to Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center on White Oaks Road in Laconia on Saturdays in February for a snowshoe stroll. Whether you are an avid snowshoer or just starting out, take a refreshing walk and explore the winter landscape of this beloved farm. All ages and abilities are welcome. Pre-register and save some money: $10 for non-members, $8 for members.

FEBRUARY 8-12: 101st NEWPORT WINTER CARNIVAL

For 5 days, the small town of Newport, New Hampshire will be transformed into a winter wonderland landscape of outdoor fun, games and family-friendly activities. This year marks the 101st year for the event and highlights include: winter carnival parade, Axe Man Challenge, horse-drawn wagon rides, broom hockey and a sliding party.

FEBRUARY 10-12: NOISES OFF IN CONCORD

City Auditorium in Concord will play host to "Noises Off," an iconic farce that follows a troupe of bumbling actors as they blunder from a bad dress rehearsal to a spectacularly disastrous performance. The show is put on by The Community Players of Concord and tickets are $18.

FEBRUARY 10-12: BLACK ICE POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT IN CONCORD

Register your own team to play in the tournament or just attend and watch as kids, teens and adults face off in a classic winter tradition.

FEBRUARY 11: ALICE IN WONDERLAND TEA PARTY IN DOVER

Celebrate Valentine's Day in the magical world of Lewis Carroll at the Children's Museum's Alice in Wonderland Tea Party. Meet Alice and other Alice in Wonderland favorites, like the Queen of Hearts, while you decorate Valentine treats, enjoy tea or apple juice, do some festive crafts and immerse your family in a magical Wonderland atmosphere. Fancy dresses, whimsical attire and imagination is encouraged.

FEBRUARY 17-18: LET'S GO ICE FISHING IN MANCHESTER

Head to Amoskeag Fishways and learn how to ice fish with staff and volunteers from New Hampshire Fish and Game. This two-part program is free but advanced registration is required. (Friday is all about ice safety, equipment and ecology and on Saturday there will be an organized fishing trip.)

FEBRUARY 17-18: FARM AND FOREST EXPO IN MANCHESTER

2017 marks the 34th year for this great winter fair. The Expo features education workshops (everything from composting to farmers markets and maple production to solar power are covered), unique NH made products, a special Kidzone for the kids and some fuzzy and furry animals to meet. Adults are $7 and kids under 16 are admitted for free.

FEBRUARY 25: 25TH ANNUAL WINTER CARNIVAL IN MERRIMACK

Families are invited to this free, fun-filled day put on by the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department. Kids can enjoy outdoor activities, crafts, games, a youth fishing derby, cardboard sledding contest, ice carving demonstrations and campfire.

FEBRUARY 28: COOK UP A MARDI GRAS FEAST

A New Orleans-style Mardi Gras bash is perfect for chasing the winter blues away.
