“We’re Going to Disney World!”

New Hampshire natives among Disney revelers

There’s the glory, the bragging rights and the satisfaction that you and your teammates are NFL champions for the sixth time, but from the perspective of a certified Mousejunkie, the best part of winning the Super Bowl is the parade on Main Street at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. And that’s exactly what New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman got to experience just hours after besting the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta.

Brady and Edelman toured the theme park atop a float – joined by Mickey, Minnie and Goofy – as crowds of Patriots fans flocked to the theme park to celebrate the champions.

Granite State natives (and recent Florida snowbirds) Kevin and Jodi Mackie took a “long lunch” to attend the parade, staking out a spot along Main Street just beside Casey’s Corner.

“It was pretty packed,” Kevin Mackie says of the mid-day getaway. “There was an insane amount of Patriots fans. The people next to us along the street were from Massachusetts, but a lady that was with them was from Exeter. Her son lives in D.C. now and told her that if she didn’t go to the parade she’d always kick herself – so she went.”

Mackie says the crowd all along the parade route was 4-5 people deep, but the longtime Sandown and Danville residents were able to secure a spot that put them just 10 feet from Brady and Edelmen as they passed by.

The Brady/Edelman bromance started off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier in the day, however, where the pair toured the new Toy Story Land and immersed themselves in some of the park’s Star Wars-themed accoutrements.

If you strike them down, they will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.
